Four Local Property Tax (LPT) nominations were submitted at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which took place on Wednesday, November 19 last.

The first two LPT submissions were made by the Mayor of the MD, Fianna Fáil councillor Noel Heavey.

He requested that €400 should go towards the Christmas lights in Newbridge, and €700 towards Clongorey and District Community Association to facilitate the repair of a defibrillator.

These nominations were seconded by Sinn Féin Cllr Noel Connolly.

The latter two LPT nominations were made by Fine Gael Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer.

She requested for €2,000 to be allocated to Kilcullen Community Action Group — specifically, to go towards a town mural — and a separate €2,000 for Kilcullen Business Town Promoters, to go towards the Christmas Market Festival.

These nominations were seconded by her party colleague, Cllr Peggy O'Dwyer.
