An incident of assault which outside of a North Kildare pub has prompted a garda investigation.

Details relating the crime were discussed on KFM earlier this morning (November 12)

During one of its programmes, guest Garda Ann-Marie Reilly told host Hannah Kelly that the incident occurred on the evening of Monday, November 10 last.

According to Gda Reilly, the injured party (who is a male) was assaulted just outside The Turn Inn in Derrinturn.

She concluded by urging anyone with any information about this crime to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí received a report of an alleged assault outside a licensed premises Carbury, County Kildare that occurred on Monday, November 10 last at approximately 8.40pm."

The spokesperson added that the investigation is ongoing.
