Kildare County Council (KCC) has given assurances that it will repaint any disabled parking bays "in poor repair" throughout the Clane-Maynooth Municipal District (MD).

The comments were made by KCC in response to a motion calling for the repainting of the spaces from Fine Gael councillor Tim Durkan, which was heard on Friday, November 7 last.

His motion was seconded by Independent Cllr Pádraig McEvoy.

In response, KCC told Cllr Durkan via the report it presented at the meeting: "The MD office will inspect the condition of the road markings of the mobility impaired spaces in the district and arrange for remarking as required in Quarter 2 of 2026."

Cllr Durkan replied by telling KCC that he welcomed its report, and noted that he had "received complaints from both residents and local access groups" in relation to the issue.
