Five separate Local Property Tax (LPT) nominations were heard at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting on Wednesday, September 17 last.
The first LPT nomination was made by Fianna Fáil Cllr Suzanne Doyle, who requested for €3,800 to go towards the Kildare town Halloween project.
This nomination was seconded by Fine Gael Cllr Kevin Duffy.
Following this, Cllr Duffy, along with Social Democrats Cllr Pat Balfe, requested for €3,000 to go towards the Parks Department for the provision of sensory boards in Monasterevin Playground.
This nomination was seconded by Fine Gael Cllr Peggy O'Dwyer.
Lastly, Cllr Duffy made three nominations: he requested €3,800 for the 14th Kildare Monasterevin Scout Group; €1,000 to go towards Kildare Sports Partnership for kayaking equipment and training in Monasterevin; and €500 retained LPT to help fund Monasterevin Community Centre.
These nominations were also seconded by Cllr O'Dwyer.
