The theft of an e-scooter had prompted a garda probe in County Kildare.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí received a report of an unauthorised taking of an e-scooter on the Moorefield Road [in Newbridge], County Kildare on Monday, September 8 last between the hours of 6.10pm and 6.50pm."
The spokesperson added that the investigation remains ongoing.
