Two men hospitalised following assault by group of more than 10 other men in Kildare town

Two men had to be hospitalised after being assaulted by a group consisting of more than 10 other men in Kildare town.

The incident was discussed by Garda Brian Carroll when he appeared as a guest on a radio programme by KFM earlier this morning (August 20).

He told host Eoin Beatty that the crime took place in the early hours of Sunday, August 17 last in the Dublin Street area of Kildare town.

Gda Carroll explained that the two men were assaulted by 10 other males.

He said that the two men sustained injuries from the assault and had to be brought to Naas General Hospital for treatment.

In addition, CCTV is being gathered by gardaí in relation to this incident, according to Gda Carroll.

He concluded by calling on anyone with information about this assault to contact Kildare town Garda Station on 045 527 730.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this particular incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí received report of an assault that occurred on Dublin Street in Kildare Town at approximately 1.20am on August 17, 2025.

"A man aged in his 30s was conveyed to Naas General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries sustained during this incident."

The spokesperson added: "Investigations are ongoing."
