The temporary closure of one County Kildare road will last for nearly two months, Kildare County Council has said (KCC).

Explaining the nature of the closure, KCC, on behalf of Coffey, said that it wished to give notice in accordance with Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 and the Roads Regulations, 1994 that it will close the L1014 road on Monday, September 8, 2025 to Sunday, November 16, 2025.

According to KCC, this is being done to facilitate upgrade works on behalf of Uisce Éireann.

The L1014 road will be closed from the (junction with) R157 to the (junction with) L5050 junction at Catherinestown during the above dates.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES

R157 bound; stay on R157 for a further 1.1 kilometres until you come to the junction of L5050 Dunboyne Road.

Turn right onto the L5050 to follow the diversion for 1km which will bring you to the end of the closure.

L1014 bound; closure starts at the junction of L5050 Dunboyne Road, diversion will begin with a right-hand turn.

You will follow this diversion for 1km when you reach the junction of R157 / L5050.

Turn left here onto the R157.

Diversion will be in place for 1.1km until you reach the end of the closure.

"Diversionary routes will be clearly signposted, as agreed with the Council and An Garda Síochána," KCC added. "Emergency access and restricted local access will be maintained."
