Kayaking skills award course to take place in this Kildare town

A kayaking skills award course is set to take place in one South Kildare town.

Organised by the Monasterevin Blueway Kayak Club, the Level 2 Kayak Skills Award is a training course that is specially designed to teach participants the skills that they will need in order to kayak confidently and safely.

This award is a prerequisite for joining Monasterevin Blueway Kayak Club.

It should be noted that this course is for over-18s only.

According to the organisers (via Eventbrite), by the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Kayak safely and competently on flat water and Grade 1 rivers as part of a group of peers
• Carry out basic safety techniques with the help of another paddler or swimmer
• Plan and undertake a safe flat-water trip, considering all relevant factors

The schedule for the classes is as follows:

• Saturday, August 23, 2025 — 9.30am to 3.30pm
• Monday, August 25, 2025 — 6pm to 9pm
• Wednesday, August 27, 2025 — 6pm to 9pm
• Monday, September 1, 2025 — 6pm to 9pm
