Man was punched around the head and had his front door kicked, it's alleged at Kildare court

A man was punched around the head a number of times sustaining a cut, it was alleged at Naas District Court.

It was further claimed by Sgt Mary Meade that the man’s front door was kicked.

Before the court was Martin O’Toole, 21, whose address was given as Gormanstown, Dunlavin, Co Wicklow.

He is being prosecuted for alleged assault and criminal damage on December 21, 2024, at an address at Killinane, Kilcullen.

Sgt Meade said the gardaí attended at the scene, which is the home of the injured party. She said it was claimed that the defendant was trying to get in.

Defending solicitor Tim Kennelly stated that the defendant has no memory of the incident adn he had mixed prescribed medication with alcohol.

Judge Desmond Zaidan adjourned the matter initially to May 28 for directions from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. It was subsequently adjourned to December 3.
