A County Kildare football club has proposed new changes for its pitch.

A planning permission application which was submitted to Kildare County Council shows that Athy AFC intends to make the changes to its pitch located at Townparks, Dublin Road, Athy.

The club wants to "replace [the] existing grass pitch surface with a new synthetic pitch".

In addition, the club is seeking permission for "associated drainage, dugouts, and all site works".

The date received is listed as July 21 last.

The submission-by and due dates are listed as August 24, 2025 and September 14, 2025.

According to the club's official Facebook Page, Athy AFC was established in 1948.

It facilitates football for both boys and girls.
