Calling all good pups: Dog show to take place near Kildare border

A dog show is due to take place near the Kildare-Laois border later this week.

Announcing the event on Facebook, Solas Eco Garden Shop, which is located in Portarlington, has said that it will hold the event, known as 'Scruffs Dog Show', on its premises.

It follows after the business recently announced that it would hold a French-themed market this Saturday (July 12, 2025).

According to the organisers: "This family-friendly event is packed with paws-itively fun activities including dog show competitions, a doggie fashion show, and a vibrant market full of treats, accessories, and unique finds.

"Whether you’re entering your dog or just soaking up the atmosphere, it’s a must-do for dog lovers of all ages."

Attendees can expect dog show competitions and market stalls with pet products, gifts and treats (11am to 4pm).

In addition, the café in Solas will be open on the day from 10am to 4pm.
