A man aged in his 20s has been arrested in County Kildare following the alleged assault of man aged in his 60s.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about the alleged crime, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí attended the scene following report of an alleged incident of assault, that occurred at Main Street, Celbridge, County Kildare, on the evening of Saturday, June 28, 2025.

"A male (aged in his 60s) received serious injuries. 

"A male (aged in his 20s) was arrested in connection with the incident.

"He has since been charged, and was due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court on Monday morning, June 30, 2025."

The spokesperson concluded by saying: "As this has now gone before the courts, An Garda Síochána will not be commenting further at this time."
