Water supply is returning to normal levels after Uisce Éireann crews successfully completed repairs to a burst water main which impacted customers in South Kildare and North Carlow.
The repairs were necessary due to a significant burst in the water main that supplies Castledermot, Moone and Timolin and surrounding areas in South Kildare, as well as Rathvilly, Bough, Cuckoo Corner, Slaney Bank, Ricketstown and surrounding areas in Co. Carlow.
Jim Fitzgerald, Uisce Éireann’s Regional Operations Manager, stated, “Our crews returned onsite in the early hours of the morning to finalise repairs. Normal water supply has been restored for the majority of customers; however, those at the end of the network may experience a delay as the network recharges. I want to thank the community for their continued patience and urge everyone to conserve water as supply returns.”
Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann will receive direct communications regarding both planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
