A member of An Garda Síochána (AGS) based in County Kildare has issued a warning to the public following a fraud incident which was reported last week.
Garda Aidan McGuane spoke to KFM about the crime earlier today (June 25).
He told host Eoin Beatty that the incident took place on the Strandhouse Road in Newbridge on the afternoon of Thursday, June 19 last.
According to Gda McGuane, a dispute had occurred between the injured party and a fraudulent tradesperson.
He added that the fraudulent tradesperson had left the scene before gardaí arrived.
Gda McGuane urged anyone with information about this incident to contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 431 212.
In addition, he advised anyone seeking the services of tradespersons to carefully verify them before seeking their services wherever possible.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this particular crime, a spokesperson for AGS responded: "Gardaí are investigating a fraud incident in the Newbridge area in County Kildare that occurred on June 19, 2025 at approximately 12.30pm."
The spokesperson added: "Investigation are ongoing."
