The Road Widening Project in Athgarvan has been delayed due to staff constraints, Kildare County Council (KCC) has said.
KCC made the revelation via its report that it presented at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting, which was held on Wednesday, June 18 last.
The comments were in response to a query made by Fine Gael councillor Tracey O'Dwyer, who submitted the following query to KCC: "Further to previous representations on the Road Widening Project in Athgarvan, can the council confirm if the design phase due to commence in Q1 2025 has commenced, and if not, outline reasons for the delay?"
KCC told Cllr O'Dwyer via the report it presented at the meeting that works have been delayed on the project due to staff constraints.
However, KCC added: "It is hoped to commence the next phase of this project before the end of the summer."
