The attempted burglary of a school occurred near Kildare town last week.
Details of the crime were discussed by Garda John Joe O'Connell when he appeared on a KFM radio programme on Wednesday, June 18 last.
He explained that the incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, June 11 last at Kildare town Community School.
Gda O'Connell added that while "no actual break-in" took place, the perpetrator(s) caused "a substantial amount of damage" to one of the windows located on the premises.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí received report of an attempted burglary that occurred at approximately midnight on June 11, 2025 on the Dunmurry Road in Kildare town.
The spokesperson also said that "investigations are ongoing" at present.
