A popular County Kildare coffee company is planning a week-long fundraiser in aid of Palestinian children caught up in the violence currently afflicting Gaza and surrounding areas.

Square Coffee, which has branches in Kildare town, Athy and Portlaoise in County Laois, has announced that it will be among other cafés taking part in the 'Coffee for Palestine' initiative, which will run from Monday, June 23, 2025 until Sunday, June 29, 2025.

Through the fundraiser, Square Coffee is calling on members of the public to pledge to buy 10 coffees over the course of the seven days.

Alan Stafford, who runs Square Coffee alongside his partner Pamela Moore, told the Leinster Leader that the company "is proud to support the Coffee for Palestine campaign".

He elaborated: "While our contribution may be small, we believe in the power of collective action to create meaningful change."

"Raising awareness and standing in solidarity is a simple gesture for us, but together with all the other coffee shops and cafes, it can make a real and lasting impact."

Mr Stafford concluded: "It is vital to help keep global attention on human dignity and humanitarian aid in Palestine."
