Almost €20,000 taken from a bank account in Kildare without permission

Some €19,870 was taken from an individual’s bank account without permission, it was alleged at Naas District Court.

Evan Den Hondt, 32, whose address was given as Apartment 75, Ardrath Heights, Celbridge, was prosecuted for converting, transferring or handling funds which may have been the proceeds of crime, contrary to the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act on October 26, 2021 from Oak Lodge Stud, Jigginstown, Naas.

Sgt Mary Meade said it will be alleged that the money was taken from a Bank of Ireland account and lodged to the defendant’s account.

Judge Desmond Zaidan adjourned the case to May 21 for the preparation of a book of evidence.
