The official headquarters of Kildare County Council (KCC), Áras Chill Dara, has been lathered in purple lighting today (May 16) to highlight Go Purple Day 2025.
The campaign, which is held in association with An Garda Síochána, takes place annually and aims to raise awareness of domestic abuse and the local supports available to those suffering from domestic abuse.
It comes after the nearby Laois / Offaly division of An Garda Síochána announced on Wednesday, May 14 last that it would postpone all Go Purple Day events across the Midlands as a mark of respect for the late Garda Kevin Flatley.
This division will instead celebrate Go Purple Day on Friday, May 30, 2025.
