BREAKING: Vehicle hits rail bridge causing train delays

There are delays to several train services after a vehicle struck a bridge between Newbridge and Sallins in Co Kildare. 

Trains on the route were initially suspended when the incident happened after 12 noon.

A spokesperson said at the time: "Services remain suspended between Sallins/Newbridge due to a reported vehicle striking a bridge in the area.

"Services are suspended departing Heuston as a result of the suspension of services."

Services heading to and from Heuston Station in Dublin are operating with delays as a result of the collision.

Up to 2pm, Some trains were up to 30 minutes late due to the incident.

They included:
 
Heuston/Carlow + 32 mins
12.15 Heuston/Portlaoise + 38 mins
12.37 Heuston/Newbridge +27 mins
12.45 Heuston/Westport +22 mins
13.00 Heuston/Cork +13 mins.
