Kildare Garda warning as bogus workman took sum of money from householder

Kildare Gardaí have issued a warning about bogus workmen who targeted a householder.

In the Robertstown area on April 10 last, a workman wearing orange hi-viz clothing called to a house and claimed he was working in the area and had tar left over.

They offered to tar the householder's driveway for free.

The householder initially refused, but then was intimidated into handing over sum of money to the bogus workman.

Gardaí said they are seeking information on a grey-coloured Volvo X  C-60 jeep with a partial registration of AVI.

The vehicle had removable roadworks signs.

Information is also sought on a UK-registered white lorry with Road Maintenance markings on the vehicle.

Anybody who can assist the gardaí is asked to contact Robertstown Gardaí.

Gardaí also advised the public not to engage with suspicious callers and to call gardaí if needed.
