An "unusual" theft incident which occurred in The Curragh last week has led to a garda investigation.
The strange crime was detailed by Garda David Prendergast of Naas Garda Station when he appeared on a KFM radio programme earlier today (April 2).
He said that the incident took place sometime between 10.30am and 10.30pm at a property located in Ballysax on Wednesday, March 26 last.
Commenting on what was stolen, Gda Prendergast explained that an "unusual" item was taken from the property: a post box — specifically, a black post box in the shape of a house with gold lettering on the outside.
He also revealed that the matter was brought to the attention of gardaí in Newbridge.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this strange incident, a garda spokesperson had this to say: "Gardaí received report of an incident of theft that occurred on the morning of March 26, 2025 in the Ballysax area of The Curragh, County Kildare."
"Investigations are ongoing at this time," the spokesperson added.
Anyone with information relating to this theft can contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440 180.
