€7m residential development in Kildare now completed

Works have been completed on a 49 unit, €7m residential development in Prosperous, Co Kildare.

The main contractor, Merlon Residential has just completed works on the final phase of the development, which is located at Downings North, Prosperous W91 N5CV.

Works first began on the development in April 2021.
The construction of 49 homes is as follows:

1 Type A1: two storey and part single storey detached, four bedroom home;

1 Type A2: two storey and part single storey detached, four bedroom home;

30 Type B1: two storey and part single storey semi-detached, four bedroom homes;

4 Type B2: two storey and part single storey semi-detached, four bedroom homes;

4 Type C: two storey and part single storey semi-detached, three bedroom homes;

6 Type D: two storey and part single storey terraced, three bedroom homes;

3 Type E: two storey terraced, two bedroom homes. (An Bord Pleanála Ref. 304859)
The development includes the provision of solar photovoltaic panels (PV) on the roofs of the homes.

There is also provision of a new site entrance on the R403 Road (Allenwood Road) and provision of a new road to the west of the homes.

The project included all associated site works, boundary treatments and landscaping works to include the culverting of the existing watercourse/stream to the north, north east and eastern boundaries of the site.
A modification application was approved in November 2020 to alter elements of the house types proposed.

The architects overseeing the project were AKM Design.
