Arrest warrant issued in Kildare court for man not paying maintenance

A warrant was issued for the arrest of a man who is allegedly not making maintenance payments.

Barrister Mark Gibbons told a family law hearing at Naas District court that the man “has never paid” and is not contributing to the maintenance of his teenage children.

“This is an ongoing issue,” Mr Gibbons told Judge Desmond Zaidan.

Judge Zaidan issued a warrant for the arrest of the man, who was not present, and said he may remand him in custody.

He said the gardaí should bring the man to court when he is arrested and the woman seeking the payments should be notified of the man’s appearance in court.
