A car was stolen from the car park underneath a Newbridge gym.

That's according to Garda Sergeant John Dunne of Newbridge Garda Station, who made the revelation when he appeared on a KFM radio programme earlier today (Wednesday, March 26).

He explained that the vehicle, a Japanese import White Mazda Demio hatchback, was stolen from the underground car park of The Gym in Newbridge on Monday, March 24 last.

Although the car was locked, according to Sgt Dunne, it was stolen by the perpetrator(s) sometime between 3.15pm and 4.30pm.

He also read out the registration plate of the stolen car: 132-D-19598.

Sgt Dunne concluded by saying that gardaí are reviewing CCTV footage in relation to this incident and urged anyone with information about the theft to contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440 180.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí received a report of an incident of theft of a car from a premises on Station Road in Newbridge, County Kildare at approximately 4pm on March 24, 2025."

The spokesperson added that investigations by gardaí "are ongoing at this time".
