Naas Community Gardaí in Kildare were on duty in the town this week assisting the Community Traffic Warden outside the Mercy Covent Primary School.

Gardaí said: "Whilst a Community Garda was on the road regulating traffic, a driver parked up in a disabled parking bay and used it as a drop-off point for children.

"These bays are not drop-offs, collection points or waiting areas."

"These actions deprive these spots for the designated pass holders who most need them."

A €150 Fixed Charge Penalty Notice was issued to this driver.
