Work has begun on an agri-tourism glamping and cycling business on a site near Kildare town.

A planning application was submitted to Kildare County Council for the proposed venture near the Irish National Stud and Japanese Gardens.

The project near the Tully East area includes the change of use from a stable block to a two-bedroom one-storey glamping pod.

Also in the designs is a one-storey extension to the north, east and west elevations of the stable block to provide storage for bicycles.

A nearby certified organic livestock farm is also planned as an attraction to holidaymakers.
