Man in his 40s arrested over fire at Leixlip property released without charge

A man arrested in relation to a fire at a building in Leixlip has been released without charge.

Gardaí say they are continuing to investigate all the circumstances surrounding two incidents of criminal damage by fire that occurred in Leixlip, Co Kildare in the early hours of Tuesday, January 30 and Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

"The male (40s) who was arrested this morning, Tuesday 4th June 2024, in connection with this investigation, has been released from the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984," they told us in a statement.

They added: "He has been charged with offences related to this investigation and is due to appear in Court at a later date."

Investigations are ongoing.
