No.8 Gallery is proud to announce our first show with Lauren Hamilton from tomorrow, November 18 to 25.
Lauren is a visual artist based in Kildare. She recently graduated from TU Dublin with a 1st class Degree in Photography.
‘Hera’ from her graduate show ‘Hystera’ was acquired by the Office of Public Works State Art Collection. She was also long listed for the RDS Visual Arts Award 2023.
Where Shadows Speak at No.8 Gallery, Kildare Town is her first solo show.
Her work centers around the visual storytelling of hidden narratives, exploring concepts of self and identity through photography and film. In her work she explores and examines the boundaries between the real and imaginary, the personal and the universal.
Her delicate and ethereal approach invites you to be transported to a very intimate space that is at once gentle and powerful.
Lauren has an ability to convey strong emotions through quiet and delicate compositions. Her work is very much informed by philosophy, psychology and a desire to encourage conversation around often uncomfortable subject matter.
‘… my work aims to shed light on challenging topics and bring them into the everyday discourse’...
Check out the exhibition at No.8 Gallery, 8 Academy Street, Kildare Town, RX51 KX29 from tomorrow.
