Firefighters and paramedics from Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB) responded to a house fire in Tallaght on Wednesday night.

An emergency ambulance crew from Tallaght fire station were on the on scene first and they rescued three children from a back window.

Three adults were also led to safety by firefighters.

The cause of the fire was not disclosed.

Speaking generally, a DFB spokesperson said: "With this week's colder evenings it is tempting to light an open fire or stove.

"Only use them if you are sure the chimney is clear.

"If it hasn't been used in a while, it could be blocked or clogged.
