Mixed fortunes for Newbridge

After winning their first game of the season in Galway last weekend Newbridge Cheetahs took to the court with a renewed confidence.

After winning their first game of the season in Galway last weekend Newbridge Cheetahs took to the court with a renewed confidence.

Strong service and clever attacking from the home side had the Cheetahs leadng their lead.

The Cheetahs took the first two sets with a significant score difference however things looked bleak for the girls in the third set when the Devils took the lead.

However the Cheetahs are a team known for digging deep and fighting back. A great team performance saw the girls take the game 3-0.

Newbridge Panthers played their first home match this weekend with many supporters coming out to cheer them on against the Tallaght

The girls began their match with a confidence due to the cheering benches and the fact that they had won their opening game and were ready to take the opposition The Panthers managed to climb their way up to 16 points however Tallaght took the lead and won 16-25. The Panthers however kept their heads and continued to fight all through the second set. However on the day Tallaght proved just a bit too strong and won the next two sets 25-18, 25-17
