The driver was stopped in Prosperous recently by Naas Roads Policing Unit

Naas Roads Policing Unit recently stopped a vehicle in Prosperous, Co Kildare, and uncovered a range of driving offences.

The driver had:

  • No tax;
  • No insurance;
  • Was an unaccompanied learner permit holder;
  • No L plates;
  • Two children in the back with no seatbelts on.

A collision at 50km/h would have transformed the back seat into a scene of tragedy.

The vehicle was seized immediately and €640 in fixed charge notices were issued, along with three penalty points.

A court appearance will follow in Naas for having no insurance.

A garda spokesperson said: “Some people think road laws are about paperwork. They’re not. This is about saving lives.”
