Planning permission documents lodged with Kildare County Council shows that a new logistics development is being proposed for Naas.
The proposed development will take place on lands measuring 4,829 hectares between the M7 motorway and Monread Road at Monread Road, Maudlings (Town land), Naas, County Kildare (adjacent to the Globe Retail Park).
Construction company Red Rock Logistics Naas Limited is listed as the applicant.
The development will consist of the demolition of all existing buildings on the site including dwellings and barns (in ruins) and barn (circa 1,126 square metres), and the construction of two buildings for warehouse/logistics use (buildings A1 and A2).
Building A1 will have a gross floor area of 5,072 sqm and will measure 14,895 m high (from ground level to parapet level).
It would have two storey ancillary offices (including reception, toilets and canteen), two at-grade doors, six dock levellers, internal plant at second floor level, elevation signage (two), roof mounted solar panels and ground level air conditioning units.
Building A2 will have a gross floor area of 12,102 sqm and will measure 14,895m high (from ground level to parapet level).
It will have two-storey ancillary offices (including reception, toilets and canteen) four at-grade doors, 15 dock levellers, internal plant at second floor level, elevation signage (two), roof mounted solar panels and ground level air conditioning units.
The proposed development includes a replacement access off Monread Road, widening of the Monread Road to accommodate a proposed additional lane (right turn pocket), new road markings, 172 car parking spaces (including disabled spaces and EV spaces), and 108 cycle parking spaces.
In addition, consent is being sought for all associated siteworks, including: new vehicular entrance, drainage infrastructure, one ESB substation, two bin stores and two recycle stores, boundary treatments, landscaping, service yards, internal roads, footpaths and cycle lane, lighting, internal gates and noise barrier, retaining walls to the west of Unit A2 and fire tender access route.
The date received is listed as December 14 last, while the submission-by and due date are listed as January 26 and February 16 respectively.
According to the business information site SoloCheck.ie, Red Rock Logistics Naas Ltd has an address listed as Millington, 3 Crosthwaite Grove, Crosthwaite Park South, Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin.
It was set up four months ago.
