Rotary Club of Newbridge is back hosting in-person charity events after two years of Covid

Rotary president, Sharon O'Carroll

After most Rotary public events were stalled for two years by the onset of Covid-19 the Rotary Club of Newbridge are delighted to announce our program of events for Christmas 2022.

We commence with a 2 hour concert starring the Liffey Choir in the Whitewater Shopping Centre on Saturday 17th from 12:00 noon to 2 PM. Come along to be entertained and uplifted and let’s get back into the spirit of Christmas after the last two grey years

Following on from the Choir recital Rotary Newbridge are co-hosting a Christmas party for Ukrainian families and their supporters being accommodated in the Kildare region. The party will take place on Saturday 17th from 2-5pm in Newbridge Town Football Club.

Rotary president Sharon O'Carroll said:

Who knows…Santa may even call in on his way to the North Pole.

Santa will be distributing hampers the residents of the sheltered accommodation in Ryans Field on Tuesday December 13th and delivering presents to the children in the Direct Provision Centres on Friday 16th December.

Most importantly the Remembrance Tree is back this year. This time we will be in two locations, the Whitewater Centre and Dunne’s Stores, Newbridge on Wednesday 21st, Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd. Come along and remember someone by writing their name on a yellow ribbon which will then be displayed on the Christmas tree.

Donations are welcome.

Our beneficiaries are St. Brigid’s Hospice, NISIG  - National Infertility Support and Information Group & Rotary Charities.

A special remembrance service will be held in the Parish Church in January 2023 at which all the ribbons collected will be displayed in a basket at the altar.
