Plans are due to be lodged soon for the installation of solar panels on the roof of Clane Shopping Centre.
Dominic Fagan wants to errect 479 square metres of panels on the building, which is within the curtilage of of Jones' Bar.
The plans are due to be submitted to Kildare County Council in the coming days.
