Kildare pharmacy vying for the double at national award

Shane Rya is a finalist for the ‘MediMarshal Community Pharmacist of the Year Award’

Kildare-based Ryan’s Pharmacy is aiming to score a double victory at the prestigious Irish Pharmacy News Awards in Dublin’s Clayton Hotel this Saturday, May 18.

Proprietor and pharmacist Shane Ryan has been shortlisted as a finalist for the MediMarshal Community Pharmacist of the Year Award while the business is also shortlisted within the category of Clonmel Healthcare Business Development (Chain) Award.

Irish Pharmacy News is the industry’s only dedicated monthly magazine and according to Managing Director Natalie Maginnis, the IPN Awards are designed to highlight the on-going excellence being carried out in Ireland's pharmacy arena.

“We were delighted with the quantity and quality of the submissions and nominations made this year. The Irish Pharmacy Awards constantly strive for excellence; the pharmacists, pharmacy businesses and teams being recognised as finalists within them reinforces the ongoing commitment and innovation being displayed within this sector.

“Pharmacists and their teams are at the heart of every community in Ireland, providing immediate and essential healthcare advice and treatments. It is an honour to recognise and reward them for their outstanding achievements.”

This year, the Irish Pharmacy Awards are teaming up with Spinal Injuries Ireland as their charity partner for 2019.

Spinal Injuries Ireland (SII) is the only support and service agency in Ireland for people who have sustained a spinal cord injury and their families, providing a person-centered service to assist people to engage fully in society.
