Naas voluntary groups plans second second garden

There are plans to develop a second public garden following the opening of the amenity at Fairy Flax (the junction of Blessington Road and Friary Road) in Naas.

An application for funding has been made by the Naas Access and Disability Group from Kildare County Council.

If money is made available the project will be developed by NADG with other groups such as Naas Tidy Towns, Naas Access Group, Men's Shed and Friends of Naas Hospital — all of which were involved in the Fairy Flax project, which is effectively a mini park.

The plan is at an early stage but it is hoped to build the garden on part of the amenity area at the lakes. A raised flower bed is planned with access for all and there will also be a picnic table with other facilities.

All of the materials to be used are made from recycled plastics.
