Opposition to plans for 42 houses in Prosperous

Junction at McCormack's in Prosperous

A planning application for houses in Prosperous has come up against some opposition.

On March 15 last, Kildare County Council sought further information from developer, John Fadden, who has applied to build 42 houses at Downings North, Prosperous. The move follows submissions from residents in the area, including Barrington Court Residents Association and residents from Killybeg Manor. Cllr Padraig McEvoy also made a submission.

Questions have been raised about water ponding, the foul water network capacity, overlooking of houses and traffic congestion/hazard in the Prosperous area, particularly around McCormacks garage.

The planning application was made on January 23.
