Plans for 165 dwellings and a childcare facility for Kildare town are being assessed by An Bord Pleanála.
Consultation has begun between the applicants, Cian and Stephen Conlan and the board under the Strategic Housing Development process.
This is a process that was brought in by the government to fast track housing developments with over 100 homes to help ease the shortage of housing supply across the country.
The case is due to be decided by May 13. The plans were lodged on March 11.
