Naas equestrian athlete Conor Byrne, 37, is heading to Abu Dhabi for the 2019 World Games in March to represent Ireland.

He is the only Naas Olympian taking part in the games and is incredibly excited about the event. Some 7,000 athletes will head across to the games, set to be the biggest sporting and humanitarian event in the world in 2019.

The event takes place over a week in March, from the 14th to 21st. With the countdown firmly underway, the athletes and their families are gearing up for an adventure like no other. The World Games take place every four years and the Irish athletes have been training hard and working towards this day for years.

This February Crossings Motor Centre are running a “Drive for your Club” initiative to raise money for our own local athlete Conor Byrne.

For each Hybrid test drive booked and taken this month they will donate €20 in support of Conor.  In order to take part in the “Drive for your Club” initiative and do your bit to support this cause email:  sinead.obrien@ crossings.ie with your preferred test drive date and time, and which model you would like to take for a spin.

"We recommend the all new 2019 next generation Corolla Hatchback Hybrid or Rav4 – if you haven’t already driven a Hybrid then you’re in for a treat,  these vehicles couldn’t be easier to drive and come packed with Toyota Safety Sense features such as Lane Departure Alert, Road Sign Assist and Pre-Collision Detection Systems," said the Crossings. To find out more about the Crossings “Drive for your Club” initiative, call Crossings on 045 897589.
