Kildare County Council response team on standby for Storm Erik

Kildare County Council is on standby due to the status yellow weather warning issued by Met Eireann for tomorrow.

It is forecasting high winds on Friday with storm force winds possible along parts of the coast.

"Kildare County Council’s Severe Weather Assessment Team met to consider any impacts of the expected high winds. Response teams including roads, water, fire, civil defence were put on standby," said the council.

"Motorists are urged to exercise caution on all roads when driving. The council request the public to check on vulnerable neighbours to ensure their safety."
