Kildare County Council has asked for further information on plans for a 16-home project on the Naas Road in Newbridge.

If approved, the existing single storey house that is on the site will be demolished to make way for two-storey blocks of two-bedroom town houses. The first block will have six units and the second block will have five units and a separate three bedroom, one-and-a-half storey dormer bungalow. The entrance will be upgraded if the planning application is approved. The plans were lodged on November 11 by Epicridge Developments Ltd. There were four submissions from the public including the residents of Hawthorn Close.

They said the development has “no relation to the scale, bulk, mass or character of the existing residential buildings in the vicinity of the site”. The council has asked for some of the buildings to be redesigned, landscaping and car parking changes.
