The Department of Education have confirmed that no repair works will need to be carried out at Gaelscoil Mhic Aodha in Kildare town.

Dep Martin Heydon said last night that no intervention will be needed.

"No works will need to be carried out on internal or external walls and the school will be open as normal next Monday," he said.

Four Kildare schools were among 42 nationwide listed by the Department of Education for examination after they were linked to the same building company, Western Building Systems, amid safety concerns.
