90 free dinners dished up in Newbridge on Christmas Day

Judge Roy Beans dished up 90 free dinners on Christmas Day last year

A new venue is needed this year for the annual Christmas with Friends event.

"Christmas with Friends was founded 13 years ago to provide those who live alone or couples to come together for an adult social day on Christmas Day. To date it has been held in Newbridge. Last year it was kindly hosted by Judge Roy Beans and they are not able to do so this year," said a spokesperson.

"We are looking for a venue in Newbridge, Kildare, Kilcullen, Athgarvan or surrounding areas who would like to host the event.  Usually around 30 people sit down to a meal and we deliver 20 dinners approximately. It would take about five hours from 12 to 4pm. We have volunteers who can help on the day with setting tables, serving the dinner and clean up."
