Presidential Election:  Tallies give Higgins 55% of Kildare South Votes #Aras18

Completed Tallies show that Michael D Higgins has won the Kildare South constituency with 55% of the vote.

Tallymen and women say he polled strongest in the suburban areas of the constituency.

Peter Casey got 24% of first preferences, followed by Joan Freeman on 8%, Sean Gallagher on 6%, Liadh Ni Riada on 4% and Gavin Duffy on 3%.

Kildare South’s Electorate is 60,307 of which an estimated 46.2% voted according to Tallies.
