One of the last crane pieces on the main street before removal
The unfinished Naas shopping centre should be handed over to Kildare County Council. Independent councillor Sorcha O’Neill says now that the cranes are gone the building should go to the council to help recoup the money which is owed to the local authority as a result of the development.
Cllr O’Neill also said that KCC has to pay for legal costs.
She believes that KCC could open up the ground level for a much needed car park and sell the other floors for “mixed uses.” Cllr O’Neill added: “The people of Naas are fed up with this eyesore which looms over the town holding its commercial centre at a standstill for all that time.” She adds that the council should seek to have this done.
