Kildare school’s new extension remains closed for six to eight weeks

St Conleth's Community College

An enormous extension to St Conleth’s Community is not likely to open for at least six to eight weeks according to Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board officials speaking at a meeting of the board earlier today.

Cllr Fiona McLoughlin Healy asked officials about the delay at the meeting and was told that “additional work on the certificiation of external works, mainly ground works,” was to blame for the delay.

The extension has been dogged by controversy in the past, including a hiatus in construction last December for four months.
