Punchestown 'thrilled' with Day One attendance despite wet weather

Punchestown General Manager Dick O’Sullivan said he is “thrilled” with the attendance for Day One of the racing festival, despite a wet start to the day.

19,181 racegoers attended the first day of the five-day festival.

The number was down a mere 504 from 19,686 in 2017.

Day two gets underway today, Appril 25. Gates open at 12 noon, first race is at 3.40pm and the last race is 7.15pm.

The feature race of the day is the Grade 1 Coral Punchestown Gold Cup at 5:30pm.
