Prime Kilcock farm sells for €890,000 at auction

Coonan Property sold a 62 acres farm at Kilglynn, Kilcock, Co. Meath for €890,000 by auction last Thursday in the Glenroyal Hotel, Maynooth, Co. Kildare.

To a packed auction room, the property was offered in one lot with a strong opening bid of €650,000.  The bidding was brisk with four different bidders bringing it up to €790,000.

After consultation with the vendors, the farm was then placed on the market and three bidders fought it out until the gavel was dropped at €890,000.

The auction was seen as one of the best farmland auctions for some time with multiple bidders and a very positive atmosphere. There were over 30 bids placed on the day indicating very serious interest for good quality farmland in the area.

The property is a superb farm of land laid out in attractive sized divisions all of which are surrounded by whitethorn hedgerow.  The lands are laid out in one block and are all in old pasture and have been well maintained over the recent years.

The house is a two storey farmhouse, which is fully intact and is in need of total renovation.  It is accessed via a long driveway in a private setting ad is adjacent to the farmyard. The yard contains a hay-barn with two lean-to’s and a silage pit.

The lands are located just outside of Kilcock town off the R158 Summerhill road.  They are located just 2 km from Kilcock centre and just 2 km off the M4 motorway with direct access to Dublin city centre and surrounds.  The area consists of prime free draining lands which are suitable for any agricultural purpose.
