Best fun float award winners - Kildare ploughing

Huge crowds turned out at Newbridge’s St Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17 last.

The Award ceremony was held in Ryston on Wednesday April 11 last.

Independent Cllr Morgan McCabe said there was a great turnout.

“We had a full reception for them, and Chairman Mick Deely said a few words about how great an effort was made.

“The overall winner, The Kildare Filipino Community, really hit the nail on the head, they were amazing.

“Overall it was a fantastic day for the people of Newbridge, great turnout on the streets and we were very lucky with the weather.”

The theme of this year’s parade was ‘Celebrating the Irish language’.

A delegation of 44 visitors from Ocala in Florida marched in the parade, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the twinning between the towns.
